Love, to me, is community—a sense of belonging and familiarity. Be it your family, friends, pets or all of the above, love is grounded in the idea that you wish the best for others and actively work to care for them and their needs.
I’ve found a community with the Enable Savings Plan. Since joining First National Bank of Omaha as the Enable Outreach Specialist in 2017, I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with our Account Owners and partners to develop relationships that extend beyond discussions of finances and savings. We’ve delved into dreams for the future, the joys—and sometimes hardships—of everyday life and have celebrated milestones ranging from savings goals to birthdays and graduations.
The bonds that I have formed through working alongside our Account Owners and the disability community continually inspire and motivate me. In my time with Enable, it has been a joy to meet so many Account Owners and families, and to do my part to help them on their path towards financial independence. Whether it’s providing a presentation or following up with individuals considering Enable after an event, my job is truly a give-and-take.
For instance, I recently held an Enable presentation session for a woman considering enrolling her child in an Enable account. What made the session so wonderful is that this mother invited some of her colleagues to join and learn about Enable, as their children have disabilities as well. At the close of the presentation, one of the attendees approached me with the names of local organizations and groups that would also benefit from learning more about what Enable has to offer. It’s moments like these that emphasize just how welcoming, caring and generous this community really is.
From the Account Owners I work alongside each day to my colleagues and the fabulous organizations we coordinate with for programming, the Enable community is comprised of compassionate individuals aiming to lift each other up.
At Enable, we work to empower our Account Owners with the tools to achieve financial stability and afford daily necessities so that they can live life to the fullest. From tax-free earnings on investments to easy contributions, we make it our ultimate aim to provide individuals with the ability to save without compromising access to vital benefits like SNAP, Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income.
I am grateful to be a part of this community and am looking forward to welcoming many more individuals to the Enable family in the future. If you have any questions about the Enable Savings Plan, please reach out to me at dstewart@fnni.com or 402-602-3596.
